They love to call this the “One Million Dollar Highway” and wether you drive by night or day, I can tell you that the first time will give you some chills. The scenery is gorgeous and some drops are very impressive. Add rain/snow and I can say, you won’t forget it.
Nighttime hit Durango and the wild fire was still going. Managed to get some shots from Fort Lewis College, which is still a safe place to be. The town is safe, most of the fire is happening in the outskirts. For more information and updates about the fire, I suggest visiting the Durango Herald.
As of June 29th, 2017 at 1pm the fire is expected to grow. Air Tankers and Bull Dozers arriving from Denver are expected. Lightner Creek Fire is declared a disaster emergency. Fire is moving towards Perins Peak.

About to eat a burger when we noticed a fire on the other side of the mountains. Started small, saw planes and imagined it would be under control within minutes. Regretfully, we were wrong.
For those who enjoy the travel, the adventure, the cultural differences and have found a common ground to respect the globe and habitants.
Just wanted to share some BTS of a recent trip.
Shots from the Leica will be posted at a later time.
